Shooting File is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe in minimal data collection and maximum security for your file transfers.

Information We Collect

Files You Upload

  • Files are temporarily stored in secure AWS S3 storage
  • Files are automatically deleted after 10 minutes
  • We do not scan, analyze, or access the content of your files
  • File names and metadata are not permanently stored

Technical Information

  • Temporary PIN codes (automatically expire after 10 minutes)
  • File size and type for upload validation
  • Basic server logs for security and performance monitoring

What We Don't Collect

  • No user accounts or personal information
  • No email addresses or contact information
  • No tracking cookies linked to your file transfers or personal identity
  • No file content analysis or indexing
  • No long-term storage of any user data

How We Protect Your Data

  • Encryption in Transit: All data is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • Secure Storage: Files are stored in encrypted AWS S3 buckets
  • Automatic Deletion: All files and PINs are automatically deleted after 10 minutes
  • Access Control: Files can only be accessed with the correct PIN code
  • One-Time Use: Each PIN can only be used once for download
  • Size Limits: File uploads are limited to 100MB to prevent abuse

Data Retention

Files: Automatically deleted after 10 minutes or immediately after download (whichever comes first)

PIN Codes: Automatically expire after 10 minutes and are immediately invalidated after use

Server Logs: Basic logs are retained for up to 30 days for security monitoring and are then automatically deleted

Third-Party Services

AWS S3: We use Amazon Web Services S3 for secure, temporary file storage. AWS has industry-leading security and privacy practices.

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics (such as page views and general traffic patterns) to help us improve the service. Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish unique users. No personally identifiable information is collected or linked to your file transfers.

Cookies: Google Analytics sets the following cookies: _ga (expires after 2 years, used to distinguish users) and _ga_QC678MP380 (expires after 2 years, used to maintain session state). These cookies contain no personally identifiable information. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use any advertising or third-party tracking services beyond Google Analytics.
